Legionnaires’ disease outbreak at Florida Hotel

The Seminole County Health Department is investigating an outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease at SpringHill Suites by Marriott Orlando in Altamonte Springs, Fla.
So far there are three confirmed cases of guests staying at the hotel and subsequently contracting Legionnaires’ disease.  According to a news report, the most recent cases were discovered in April and the health department is trying to track down others who may have also been exposed to Legionella bacteria at SpringHill Suites.  Possible exposures at the hotel would include, but are not limited to, the pool, hot tub, and showers.
If you have become ill after staying at the SpringHill Suites, please contact the Seminole County Health Department.
